loved your post. my little girl has been in love with Paris a few years now....the inspiration for her room and at nearly 9 years old talks of visiting all the time. Adore the painting.

Ha! I love France too, but with some reservations as well. She is that slightly batty, definitely stubborn, stylish great aunt who alternates puzzles, charms and exasperates...Audrey Tatou is cuter than the French society she has come to embody...But trust me, lardons are a great substitute for sliced bacon. Far more flexible, culinarily speaking.

What absolutely beautiful gifts! A lucky baby and new mom, indeed. I'm just learning to knit, and recently discovered I was doing it wrong too. Thank goodness for those videos online!

I am fully in love with Audrey Tautou. And if you need a scout (no pun intended) to go with you, you know, to make sure the place checks out...I'm your girl.

ahhh...this was such a comforting read.

afternoons have always been a big challenge for me. both of my kids gave up naps early (my daughter at 2 1/2 and my son at 3) and it has been a real challenge (to put it mildly).

i am drained in the afternoon and i absolutely *need* quiet space away from them to recharge.

it's different now that they are in school three full days. on our two home days we tend to have afternoon adventures...but it used to be a really big challenge for me. one that led me to come up with all kinds of creative "busy boxes" for them so that i could lie on the couch and shut my eyes for just a few minutes.

love the quote you shared. that's one of my favorite books!!!
